A Martial Arts Class Built for Progress
Taizen Martial Arts teaches Uechi Ryu Karate in Thornleigh to students aged 8 and over, with particular value for pre-teens and teenagers aged approximately 10–16. Beginners are welcome. Students learn at their own pace through structured technique practice, partner work, fitness, self-defence training and progressive goals.
The atmosphere is focused without being aggressive. Instructor Dave Stennett brings more than 30 years of martial arts experience, including training in Japan and Thailand and experience in Uechi Ryu Karate, Shorinji Kenpo and Muay Thai.

Class Times and Location
Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:00–6:00 pm

Classes are held inside Thornleigh Squash & Fitness, 6 Duffy Avenue, Thornleigh NSW 2120. The centre has on-site parking. Contact us before attending so we can confirm the right class and explain exactly where to meet your instructor.
What to Expect at a Free Trial
A first class is an introduction, not a test. Wear comfortable sports clothing and bring water. We will introduce the training space, explain the class structure and adapt activities to the student’s experience. A parent or guardian can ask questions before deciding whether ongoing training is the right fit.

No. Beginners can start without previous karate, kickboxing or fitness training.
Is this a teen-only class?
